B1G Power Rankings – Week of 9/30

Purdue Pep Rally (25 March 2007) (110)

I ranked Purdue last, and they still threw a pep rally (Photo credit: ckroberts61)

Last week, I predicted how the Big Ten season will play out.  Throughout the rest of the season, I’ll be ranking the B1G schools 1-12.  Prepare to disagree…

  1. Ohio State.  Beating Wisconsin is the best win by a B1G school this year.  By far.
  2. Wisconsin.  Yes, the Badgers have two losses, but those losses both look pretty good.
  3. Northwestern.  Game Day in Evanston?  Next you’ll tell me they’re broadcasting from North Dakota State.
  4. Michigan State.  Can that defense carry them to Indy?  Might have to.
  5. Penn State.  Technically, they had a bye, but they had a big victory thanks to the NCAA reducing their sanctions.
  6. Michigan.  I just don’t know what to make of Michigan’s 2013 season so far.
  7. Nebraska.  Until the offense is consistent and the defense proves they can hold teams under 400 yards, the Huskers will be low.
  8. Iowa.  Probably higher than the Hawks deserve.  Poised to fall back to earth.
  9. Illinois.  Probably lower than the Illini deserve.  Poised to make a big jump in the next few weeks.
  10. Indiana.  I was hoping they could strike a blow for the league against the SEC (even if it is just Mizzou).
  11. Minnesota.  Losing to Iowa means the Gophers lost a golden opportunity for a bowl game.
  12. Purdue.  Yes, they scored 55 last week.  I’m still not convinced.
